Daffodil Garden Bulb Box
Daffodil Garden Bulb Box
50 bulbs of Heather’s FAVORITE flower on the farm: specialty Narcissus! Once again, we’ve partnered with Onings, our bulb supplier in Holland, to bring this beautiful collection of flowers to you. This year’s daffodil garden box contains some of the newest daffodils on the market, along with some tried-and-true beauties that are very difficult to get your hands on. Some of these varieties can’t be found through any other suppliers because they are carried exclusively by Onings and bred and grown by a single family in the Netherlands (Heather got to see “Lady Jane” in the trial fields of the Netherlands before it had even been named!). Normally only available to the cut flower industry, now you have a chance to grow these beautiful flowers in your own yard!
Each box contains 50 narcissus bulbs in a mix of all five of the varieties shown here. We’ve selected a range of colors and forms, and carefully curated this mix so that your daffodils will bloom over a long period of time. Ranging from pure white to light, creamy yellow, soft apricot, to buttercream, these will put on an amazing cheerful show in your yard next spring.
We believe a patch of narcissus in your yard is one of the best landscaping investments you can make on your property. Daffodils are a perennial bulb, meaning that they come back year after year, multiplying underground so each year you get more blooms. Deer and gophers ignore them, so you can plant them and not worry about them disappearing. The flowers last a long time on the plant and also make wonderful bouquets if you want to cut them and bring them into the house. And they are one of the very first flowers to arrive after our gloomy winters to signal the start of spring. Once you see these beauties blooming in your yard you’ll be hooked!
Our order of spring bulbs will be arriving on the farm in mid-October, and we will pack up your order as soon as those bulbs arrive. Your box will arrive with detailed planting instructions (hint: it’s easy! Just plant them 6-8” deep as soon as they arrive and wait for flowers to grow in the spring). Please note: these flowers grow wonderfully for us here in Oregon, growing zone 8b, where we have cold winters. If you live in zone 9 or higher you may not be able to grow these as successfully as we do here. A quick google search can show you what your growing zone is.
Agriculture laws prohibit us from shipping bulbs out of the country or to California. Please note: bulbs are heavy and quite large, which is reflected by our shipping charges. WE DO NOT MAKE MONEY OFF OF SHIPPING and only charge you what we pay at the post office. If you are a local customer, you can select “on-farm pickup” at checkout - we will get in touch with you once your order is assembled and let you know details about pickup days and times.
Flower Farmer Tip: 50 bulbs sounds like SO MANY BULBS, but if you’re familiar with planting fall bulbs you know that they are planted fairly close together. One of these boxes will give you a nice patch of narcissus, but if you’re wanting to cover a large area, or want to have enough flowers to leave in your yard AND bring some into the house, you may want to purchase more than one box.
