Specialty Daffodil Bulbs

$22.00

We are so excited to be partnering with Onings, our bulb supplier in Holland, to offer you these amazing varieties of daffodils, which we call Narcissus in the cut flower industry. These are the same bulbs that we grow here on our farm, many of which can’t be found through any other suppliers because they are carried exclusively by Onings. We’ve added extra to our own order so we can share them with you!

The varieties we have available are:

Sweet Paradise: Bred by W.F. Leenan in Holland, this gorgeous variety is very difficult to find in the United States, as it is only carried by one distributor who sells exclusively to flower farms. The blooms are highly double and ruffled, with a swirl of peach petals at the center of beautiful warm cream ruffles. Stems are tall and strong, making this an excellent cut flower.

Tom Pouce: A darling narcissus that we are excited to add to our farm this year - Tom Pouce has light yellow flowers and peachy-pink center trumpets. A truly unique take on the traditional daffodil.

Mammoth Mountain: Another farm favorite, this large-flowered daffodil has a gorgeous split and ruffled trumpet that begins orange and fades to peach as the flowers mature. Tall, sturdy stems make it a wonderful cut flower.

Lady Jane: A brand new introduction by W.F. Leenan, this is the first year that this flower is available in the United States. The blooms are very full and tall.

Sir Winston Churchill: A tazetta type daffodil, each flower stem is made up of many highly-ruffled, pure white, very fragrant flowers. Just one stem in an arrangement will make your home smell heavenly!

We believe a patch of narcissus in your yard is one of the best landscaping investments you can make on your property. Daffodils are a perennial bulb, meaning that they come back year after year, multiplying underground so each year you get more blooms. Deer and gophers ignore them, so you can plant them and not worry about them disappearing. The flowers last a long time on the plant and also make wonderful bouquets if you want to cut them and bring them into the house. And they are one of the very first flowers to arrive after our gloomy winters to signal the start of spring. Once you see these beauties blooming in your yard you’ll be hooked!

All bulbs will arrive with detailed planting instructions (hint: it’s easy! Just plant them 6-8” deep as soon as they arrive and wait for flowers to grow in the spring). Please note: these flowers grow wonderfully for us here in Oregon, growing zone 8b, where we have cold winters. If you live in zone 9 or higher you may not be able to grow these as successfully as we do here. A quick google search can show you what your growing zone is.
